Frappuccino Maker At Home
Are you ready to make your first, tastes-like-Starbucks, frappuccino at home with your new machine?
Here’s the recipe I began with. Later I’ll reveal how I altered it (because although this was good, it wasn’t anything close to having a frappuccino maker and copying Starbucks for taste.
The Original Starbucks Frappuccino Recipe
Makes 24 ounces.
1/2 cup fresh espresso
2 1/2 cups 2% milk
1/4 cup granulated white sugar
1 tablespoon dry pectin*
1. Combine all of the ingredients in a pitcher or covered container.
2. Stir or shake until the sugar is fully dissolved.
3. Chill and serve cold.
* You can buy pectin at any grocery store and some home hardware stores. You’ll find it in the home preserving aisle with the mason jars and recipe books on home preserves. In the grocery store you may find pectin in the same section as Jell-o powders and pudding mixes.
It’s important to note that this recipe requires you to have espresso on hand which can only mean that you either have, or plan to purchase, an espresso machine before you can make frappuccinos at home. This recipe also only calls for a chilling of the drink which is not a true Starbucks-style frapp at all!
